I’m Eva-Jeanette — a current Parkrose school board member running for re-election.
Here’s a little bit about me:
I’ve lived in Parkrose for going on 6 years now, and have two elementary-aged kids in the school district. Over the last few years, I’ve seen the immense challenges COVID has created for all our kids, especially the months of isolation during a pivotal time in their lives. And, I’ve seen our principals, teachers and all school staff work tirelessly to support them. Still, every day, they face enormous odds. Standing by and watching from the sidelines isn’t an option for me.

Since my appointment to the board in 2022, I’ve tried to use whatever resources, abilities and access I have to support students, their families, and our teachers — the heart of our community. Our diverse, global community has deep wisdom to offer our city, state and beyond. As one of the first two Latinas to ever serve on the Parkrose school board, I’m proud to represent a school community that cares about every student that walks through their doors.
Standing by and watching from the sidelines isn’t an option for me.
Whether I’m listening to students and teachers, coaching community sports, advocating to Oregon legislators, or fighting for our kids’ fundamental right to feel safe socially, mentally and emotionally, I am committed to making sure each Parkrose student—from every background, ability, culture and identity—can learn with the respect, joy and compassion they deserve. That’s why I’m running for re-election.

When each of us does our part and we come together, we have the power to affect the future of our children—the future of our entire community.
Let’s connect. I’d love to hear from you!
